Thank you to our incredible supporters who have donated so far! Let's now smash this target and help us reach £75,000. This would equate to half the additional COVID related playing costs of taking part in this season's Championship campaign #BluesFamily #BedfordisBlue.
Bedford Blues are today launching a crowdfunding campaign to protect our proud history and enable us to meet additional COVID testing, protocols and operational costs that have not been supported by grant funding.
As you will already be aware, the Sport Winter Survival Package which has allowed us to take part in the revised 2021 Championship campaign is purely on a loan basis, there will be no grant support afforded to the club and this crowdfunding will help go towards the increased costs to meet the Minimum Operating Standards.
We are left to face huge COVID related costs of over £100,000 as well as the ongoing costs of running a club without any income streams.
Throughout the 2021 season, we will showcase and highlight just how much Championship rugby means to Bedford and why we are the best supported club in this league. It’s time to #ProtectyourBedfordBlues.
Bedford Blues have been one of the most consistent operators in the Championship having been founder members of the division since its revision to the current format and we want to continue offering our trademark attacking brand of rugby at Goldington Road for many years to come.
We must make this very clear: this plea is to support the additional funding required to meet the COVID requirements.
We have been heartened and boosted by the continued support shown throughout this period, but we must ask for more of the same to ensure Bedford Blues comes through this ever-evolving situation stronger as we enter our 135th year as the town’s Club.
Supporters will be able to watch live games during the season via our TicketCo TV platform for just £10 per match at home games, but Season Tickets will not be available this campaign.
