Filmhouse – Open the Doors!

The Filmhouse is where I first felt belonging within a film community. I hope many more people will feel that way again soon.

Good luck, I very much hope this is successful. Love and miss the Filmhouse.

Filmhouse traditionally curated the best set of monthly films I am aware of. For that and for the wonderful place it is we will continue to support and look forward to seeing Filmhouse back at the centre of the Edinburgh film scene.

Have loved this venue for most of my 76years and in particular have supported its part in the EDINBURGH FILM FESTIVAL, one of the oldest film festivals in the world. Loosing it has done damage to EDINBURGH and its importance as a centre for significant festivals!

So many people are behind this effort!! XXXX

The Filmhouse has been sorely missed. We look forward to our return.

I've seen so many great films at the Filmhouse over the years - many that I couldn't have seen elsewhere - and need the venue to be re-established so that myself and like-minded souls can have that experience in future. I'm not from Edinburgh and used to come over most Saturdays to catch an early evening screening. It'll be fantastic to have that routine once again. Fingers crossed.

The Film House is too important for Edinburgh to lose.

It’s been a tough old year without you. Can’t wait for some nachos!

Filmhouse has been my local cinema for the 2 years I was in Edinburgh as a film student, and the most welcoming space in the city for even just a coffee, a film or a chat with friends.

I have missed the Filmhouse. As others have said we should not have assumed it will always be there - independent cinema needs our active support.

I took the Filmhouse for granted for almost 20 years. NEVER AGAIN, I’ve missed you SO much xxx

I cannot wait for the Filmhouse to return along with the cafe.

I am so happy at the prospect of The Filmhouse re opening it's doors once more.

It will be great to have the Filmhouse and cafe back, run on a sustainable not-for-profit basis.

However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light

The closure of the Filmhouse is a wound on the city of Edinburgh. I hope that the wound can be healed.

The Filmhouse is a sort of sanctuary for me. A place where I can lose myself, and the world outside, for a few hours.
